Castleman disease

Castleman disease (CD) is a benign lymphoproliferative disorder that may present as a localized or multicentric form (see these terms). The clinical manifestations are heterogeneous, ranging from asymptomatic discrete lymphadenopathy to recurrent episodes of diffuse lymphadenopathy with severe systemic symptoms.

Pulmonary sequestration

The presence of a piece lung tissue which is not attached to the pulmonary blood supply and does not communicate with the other lung tissue (not connected to the standard bronchial airways and not performing a function in respiration).

We describe a 39-year-old woman who presented with anterior mediastinal Castleman disease that mimicked an anterior mediastinal pulmonary sequestration due to the presence of both prominent systemic arterial feeding vessels and a systemic draining vein as seen on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.
