Diencephalic syndrome

Diencephalic syndrome (DS) is a rare condition characterized by profound emaciation and failure to thrive (with normal caloric intake and normal linear growth), hyperalertness, hyperkinesia and euphoria, in the presence of hypothalamic tumors.

Motor aphasia

Impairment of expressive language and relative preservation of receptive language abilities. That is, the patient understands language (speech, writing) but cannot express it.

In the course of the illness, the patient developed the diencephalic syndrome associated with arterial hypertension and early puberty, right-handed central hemiparesis, contractures, partial motor aphasia, and a decrease of the intellect.
