Chronic autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a rare progressive inflammatory disorder of unknown cause primarily affecting women and associated with circulating autoantibodies, elevated transaminase levels, and increased levels of immunoglobulin.

Breakdown of muscle fibers that leads to the release of muscle fiber contents (myoglobin) into the bloodstream.

We report a case of an apparently healthy 76-year-old woman who was on long-term statin therapy presenting with severe rhabdomyolysis, autoimmune hepatitis, and positive lupus antibodies.
