Kaposi sarcoma

A rare vascular tumor that is characterized by human herpes virus 8 (HHV-8)-induced endothelial inflammatory neoplasm that develops with various clinically distinct settings, manifesting mostly as cutaneous lesions, or mucosal or visceral involvement.

Edema

An abnormal accumulation of fluid beneath the skin, or in one or more cavities of the body.

Kaposi sarcoma (KS) is a malignant vascular neoplasia with a viral etiology, characterized by development of multiple hyperpigmentate lesions, primarily at cutaneous level with associated edema and ulcerations, but frequently involving also the mucous membranes and/or visceral organs.
