Chronic granulomatous disease

Chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) is a rare primary immunodeficiency, mainly affecting phagocytes, which is characterized by an increased susceptibility to severe and recurrent bacterial and fungal infections, along with the development of granulomas.

Abnormal metabolism

An abnormality in the function of the chemical reactions related to processes including conversion of food to enter, synthesis of proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and carbohydrates, or the elimination of waste products.
