Neuroblastoma

Neuroblastoma is a malignant tumor of neural crest cells, the cells that give rise to the sympathetic nervous system, which is observed in children.

Narcolepsy

An abnormal phenomenon characterized by a classic tetrad of excessive daytime sleepiness with irresistible sleep attacks, cataplexy (sudden bilateral loss of muscle tone), hypnagogic hallucination, and sleep paralysis.

Here we describe three patients, each presenting in early childhood with complex neurological symptoms including narcolepsy with cataplexy that were subsequently found to have paraspinal neuroblastoma.
