Polycythemia vera

Polycythemia vera (PV) is an acquired myeloproliferative disorder characterized by an elevated absolute red blood cell mass caused by uncontrolled red blood cell production, frequently associated with uncontrolled white blood cell and platelet production.

Hematuria

The presence of blood in the urine. Hematuria may be gross hematuria (visible to the naked eye) or microscopic hematuria (detected by dipstick or microscopic examination of the urine).

A 40-year-old Moroccan man was followed up for a bladder tumor which manifested with coagulant hematuria and a facial erythrosis with a hemoglobin level of 20.3g/L suggesting polycythemia vera.
