Morphometric evaluation of paraneoplastic neuropathies associated with carcinomas, lymphomas, and dysproteinemias.
Wang JF, Schroder JM.
J Peripher Nerv Syst. 1998;3(4):259-66.
Paraneoplastic peripheral neuropathies are caused by indirect effects of carcinomas, mainly small cell bronchogenic carcinomas, lymphoproliferative disorders (lymphomas, myelomas, polycythemia vera), and dysproteinemias (benign monoclonal paraproteinemia, Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia) including cryoglobulinemias.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia in a patient with longstanding polycythemia vera: cytogenetic analysis reveals two distinct abnormal clones.

Am J Hematol. 1988;29(1):33-7.
These findings suggest the existence of two independent hematologic diseases: this phenomenon would not support the speculation from previous reports that lymphoproliferative disorders in patients with polycythemia vera arise from clonal evolution.
