Schizencephaly

Schizencephaly is a rare congenital cerebral malformation characterized by the presence of linear clefts in one or both hemispheres of the brain, extending from the lateral ventricles to the pial surface of the cortex, and that lead to a variety of neurological symptoms such as epilepsy, motor deficits, and psychomotor retardation.

Cryptophthalmos

Cryptophthalmos is a condition of total absence of eyelids and the skin of forehead is continuous with that of cheek, in which the eyeball is completely concealed by the skin, which is stretched over the orbital cavity.

We describe an unusual case of schizencephaly associated with unilateral orbital meningoencephalocele, anophthalmos, orbital soft mass, cryptophthalmos and partial agenesis of corpus callosum, along with ectopic kidney and thumb anomaly.
