Seckel syndrome

Seckel syndrome is a type of microcephalic primordial dwarfism that is characterized by a proportionate dwarfism of prenatal onset, a severe microcephaly, a typical dysmorphic face (bird-like), and mild to severe intellectual disability.

When coupled with previous reports of other types of cerebrovascular disease in patients with Seckel syndrome or other primordial dwarfisms, the authors' findings are important because they suggest that physicians treating patients with dwarfism should consider the diagnosis of moyamoya syndrome when symptoms suggestive of cerebral ischemia are present.
