Sotos syndrome

Sotos syndrome is a rare multisystemic genetic disorder characterized by a typical facial appearance, overgrowth of the body in early life with macrocephaly, and mild to severe intellectual disability.

Shock

The state in which profound and widespread reduction of effective tissue perfusion leads first to reversible, and then if prolonged, to irreversible cellular injury.

We reported here a 5-year-old girl with Sotos syndrome who developed acute shock encephalopathy syndrome (ASES), and differentiated ASES from Reye syndrome (RS).
