Desmoid tumor

A desmoid tumor (DT) is a benign, locally invasive soft tissue tumor associated with a high recurrence rate but with no metastatic potential.

Umbilical hernia

Protrusion of abdominal contents through a defect in the abdominal wall musculature around the umbilicus. Skin and subcutaneous tissue overlie the defect.

Two cases of desmoid-type fibromatosis developing after laparoscopic hernia repair are described: one in a young male 3years after laparoscopic umbilical hernia repair and the other in a young female 1year after laparoscopic incisional hernia repair.
