Glucagonoma

Glucagonoma is a rare, functioning type of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (PNET; see this term) that hypersecretes glucagon, leading to a syndrome comprised of necrolytic migratory erythema, diabetes mellitus, anemia, weight loss, mucosal abnormalities, thromboembolism, gastrointestinal and neuropsychiatric symptoms.

Primary hyperparathyroidism

A type of hyperparathyroidism caused by a primary abnormality of the parathyroid glands (e.g., adenoma, carcinoma, hyperplasia). Primary hyperparathyroidism is associated with hyercalcemia.

We describe a very uncommon case of functioning glucagonoma associated with primary hyperparathyroidism (pHPT) in which genetic testing failed to detect germline mutations of MEN-1 and other known genes responsible for MEN1.
