Typhoid or typhoid fever is a reportable, fecal-oral, potentially fatal infectious disease, caused by the bacteria <i>Salmonella typhi</i> and characterized by a non-focal fever.

Severe distention of the kidney with dilation of the renal pelvis and calices.
